Last night I was giving a class at Dancing Moon in Raleigh, NC. I got there early so I could meditate before everyone arrived. The topic of the evening was "Spirit Guides”. As I looked around the room I suddenly saw five ladies in Spirit sitting on the front row, some of them were my 'guides and helpers'. They included Elizabeth (Ana), her sister Helen, and a 13th century lass named Muriel Douglas. The 'guys', including my main guide William, were standing on the other side of the room. From this Medium's perspective, the room was noisy and filled with a lot of Spirit chatter.
Towards the end of class, one of my students asked me if my sister looked like me. I assumed she was 'seeing' the lady in spirit that I 'felt' standing next to me, thinking that the woman was my dead relative. She was correct, but not of this lifetime.
I knew that Spirit to be Muriel Douglas, a woman who passed in childbirth in 1303 at a medieval manor known as Stebbinge Park in Essex, England. The student described what she saw. She said that the woman's nose was similar to mine, and that we looked to be sisters in appearence. OK, I have a distinctive nose...so that remark drew my attention. Then the student described the Spirit as ‘overshadowing me’, with fingers like mine that were being used to play the piano.
For the last several weeks Muriel Douglas has been telling me that she incarnated in the 19th century as the well known Spiritualist, Emma Hardinge Britten. She reminded me of my first week at Stansted in 2002, attending the Arthur Findlay College for training in Trance Mediumship. One night I received an apport, a materialized gift from Spirit in the form of a photograph of Ms. Britten with the seven principles listed on the back of the card. Other mediums told me the next day that the apport meant that I would be a writer.
I have written five books with Spirit so far but now I realize that message had an even deeper meaning. Muriel Douglas was my daughter in the 13th century. And she reincarnated as Emma Hardinge Britten. She was a pianist. The message from one of my students was spot on and I didn’t even know it. Emma certainly had a prominent nose and she was well known for teaching music and playing the piano. Often she selected pieces to perform from what she 'heard from her audience', thoughts they held in their minds that were related to the medium by Spirit. Emma was a playful medium.
You never know what you will learn in class. Thanks to my students for their trust in doing the work with Spirit. Last night it paid off for the teacher. Working for Spirit is always the definitive adventure, sure aye!
